Bromic Platinum Smart-Heat Gas Outdoor Heater
SKU: BH0110001-1
- Heat output 23,600 BTU (300 series) or 39,800 BTU (500 series)
Overview
The Platinum Smart-Heat Gas is a wall or ceiling heater that burns propane or natural gas behind a tinted ceramic-glass screen. The ceramic burner glows a soft red and sends radiant heat forward over the seating area, and an electric direct ignition lights it without a pilot flame.
Choose the 300 series for about 160 square feet or the 500 series for about 215, then match the fuel to your supply. It switches on and off only, runs from a 110V supply and belongs in covered, open-air spaces.

Features
Radiant heat from a ceramic screen
Gas feeds a ceramic burner that sits behind a tinted glass-ceramic screen in a stainless steel body. The heat is radiant and directional, so it lands on the seating area in front of the heater.

Two sizes, two fuels
The 300 series produces 23,600 BTU and heats about 160 square feet. The 500 series produces 39,800 BTU for about 215 square feet. Each comes as a propane model or a natural gas model, and the fuel is fixed when you buy, so match it to your supply.

Pivot bracket for wall or ceiling
The mounting arm sets the heater at 0, 10 or 20 degrees, so the heat can be aimed at the seating. A wall bracket comes with the heater, while ceiling poles are sold separately. A heat deflector, also sold separately, cuts the clearance needed above the heater to 14 inches.

Direct ignition, no pilot flame
An electronic igniter lights the burner on demand, so no pilot flame burns between uses. That is why it needs a 110V supply drawing under 2A. The heater has no switch of its own, so you control it at the power supply.

Made for light wind and covered patios
Bromic's patented burner design keeps the heater working in a light breeze. Its manual quotes up to 10 mph and its spec sheet up to 12 mph. Strong wind or soaking weather will reduce performance, and the heater needs a roof overhead to keep rain off.

FAQ
Do I choose propane or natural gas?
Each heater is built for one fuel and cannot run on the other. Choose the version that matches the gas at your site. Propane models need 11 to 14 inches of water column at the inlet and natural gas models need 6 to 14.
Does it need electricity?
Yes. The ignition and controls run on a 110V supply drawing under 2A. The heater has a 36 inch cord and a grounded plug but no switch of its own, so you turn it on and off at the power supply with a wall switch or an Affinity On/Off controller.
Where can I use it?
Outdoors only. It must sit in an open-air space with natural ventilation and a roof or cover to keep rain off. Bromic does not approve it for indoor rooms, recreational vehicles or boats. If your patio has more than two walls, check the open-wall rules in the manual first.
Who installs it?
An authorized installer must connect the gas, leak test every joint and complete the electrical connection to local codes. Above 2000 feet the installer also needs a different gas orifice, as the manual explains. Plan on a yearly inspection of the gas system, with the burner and air passages cleaned at least every six months.
Which size should I buy?
The 300 series suits a small seating group of about 160 square feet. The 500 series reaches about 215 square feet. A long terrace takes several heaters, and we can help plan the layout.
Can I dim it or add a heat deflector?
It is on and off only, so choose an electric Bromic heater if you want dimming. A heat deflector, sold separately, reduces the clearance needed above the heater to 14 inches.
