Fire by Design Aspen Gas Fire Table
SKU: APASFP42-KITNG
- Material Glass fiber reinforced concrete (GFRC)
Overview
The Aspen is a low gas fire table in three forms: a square at 42 or 48 inches, a 55 inch rectangle and a 48 inch block. Every form stands 15 to 16 inches high. In the product photographs the sides carry a horizontal wood-grain texture, shown in white, grey and dark brown.
You choose the form, a stainless steel or Pro Series brass burner, natural gas or propane and how the flame starts: a hardwired AWEIS electronic ignition, a battery system or a match lit key valve. The burner, a matched pan and the ignition parts arrive together as one kit. After you order, we send the color chart and settle the finish with you before the order goes to Fire by Design.

Features
Three forms at a low height
The square is offered at 42 and 48 inches, the rectangle at 55 by 30 inches and the block at 48 by 28 inches. The square and rectangle stand 16 inches high and the block 15. The 42 inch square sits on a 40 inch base and the 48 inch square on a 46 inch base.

The block: narrowest top, lightest build
At 48 by 28 inches and 15 inches high, the block has the slimmest tabletop surface in the collection at 5.25 inches. It is also the lightest Aspen, at about 235 pounds. Its pan measures 37.25 by 17.5 inches and takes about 59 pounds of fire glass.

A 55 inch rectangle with its own wind screen
The rectangle is 55 inches long, 30 wide and 16 high, with an 8 inch tabletop surface and a 52 by 26.75 inch base. A glass wind screen with brackets, 39.5 by 15 inches, comes with this form and no other.

Stainless steel and brass burners
The squares use a 12 inch 304 stainless steel ring at 85K BTU. Their brass alternative is an 11 inch Pro Series snowflake at 42K BTU. The rectangle and block use a 26 inch linear burner in 316 stainless steel at 37K BTU, and the rectangle's brass choice is a 24 inch Pro Series TX burner at 50K BTU. Brass is offered on the block as well.

Five ways to light it
The 24VAC AWEIS is Fire by Design's standard electronic ignition, and its 24 volt transformer is in the kit. The 30VDC version is the pool-certified one and brings its own power supply. A 120V version runs from an adapter. For a site with no power run, the battery system uses three AA batteries and a rocker switch on a face plate fitted to the table, and match lit works through a black key valve.

Cast in GFRC, finished to order
Fire by Design casts the enclosure in glass fiber reinforced concrete and finishes it in a color you pick after ordering. The chart runs from pale tones such as Morning Fog, Crystal Cove and White to deeper shades such as Dark Walnut, Black and Burnt Terra Cotta. Fine surface crazing and hairline cracks are natural in concrete, and finishes age naturally over time.

FAQ
How wide is the tabletop around the flame?
It varies by form. The 42 inch square has 8.5 inches, the 48 inch square 11.5 inches, the 55 inch rectangle 8 inches and the 48 inch block 5.25 inches.
Which forms include a glass wind screen?
Only the 55 inch rectangle, which comes with a 39.5 by 15 inch screen and brackets. The squares and the block do not list one.
Which ignition should I choose?
The 24VAC AWEIS suits a typical hardwired install, and the 30VDC version is the pool-certified option. If no power is near, the battery system avoids a wiring run. Match lit is the simplest if you are content to light the flame yourself.
Can I install it myself?
Fire by Design sells these tables for installation by a licensed professional, covering the gas connection and any wiring. Plumbing codes call for a manual gas shutoff within 6 feet of the table, and that valve also sets the flame height. Fire by Design recommends drainage for every fire feature.
How is the finish chosen?
Once your order is in, we send the color chart and agree your finish with you. The order goes to Fire by Design only after the color is confirmed.
What goes on top of the burner?
Fire glass, lava rock or rolled lava stone. The squares hold about 62 pounds of fire glass, the rectangle 45 pounds and the block 59 pounds.
