Bromic Tungsten Smart-Heat Freestanding Gas Outdoor Heater
SKU: BH0510005
- Size About 7.1 ft tall and 2.3 ft across at the widest and deepest points
- Heat output 38,500 BTU
Overview
The Tungsten Smart-Heat Freestanding is a gas patio heater with a sculptural shape. A tall, curved stand in matte black carries a tilting head with ceramic burners, so the warmth goes toward the people rather than up into the night air.
It delivers 38,500 BTU across up to 215 square feet, rolls on built-in wheels and comes in propane or natural gas. Because it needs no wall or ceiling, it can sit wherever people gather. At about 124 lb it ships by freight.

Features
Aim the head where you sit
The head tilts on its curved stand, so you can point the heat at the table, the sofa or the edge of the pool. High-intensity ceramic burners give directional infrared heat, and Bromic states the design is up to three times more efficient than a traditional mushroom heater.

Rolls to where the guests are
Built-in wheels and an anti-tilt structure make the heater easy to move into a new spot, tighter spaces included, despite its weight of about 124 lb.
Heat for a lounge or a dining area
At 38,500 BTU the heater warms up to 215 square feet, enough for a sofa group or a small dining area. Bromic quotes about 8 hours of run time from a single propane tank.

Propane tank or natural gas line
The propane model runs from a 20 lb cylinder that is not included, and its control knob turns the output from high to low. The natural gas model comes with a 10 foot quick-connect line and runs on high only. It must sit within 2 meters of the fixed supply outlet.
Safety devices on board
A flame failure device and an anti-tilt switch are fitted. Bromic still advises switching the heater off when it is not in use and turning the gas supply off between sessions.
Modular build, easy to store
The heater goes together from modular parts using the supplied hex key and comes apart again for storage. The parts arrive in two boxes. You supply a Phillips screwdriver and a spray bottle for the soapy-water leak test.

FAQ
Which gas type should I choose?
Choose the fuel you can supply. The propane model uses a 20 lb propane cylinder and can be turned down from high to low. The natural gas model connects to a fixed supply line within 2 meters and runs on high only. Each heater is built for one fuel and cannot run on the other.
How long does a propane tank last?
Bromic cites about 8 hours of operating time on a single tank. Never fill a cylinder beyond 80 percent, and keep any spare cylinder away from the heater.
Can it stay outside in the rain?
Bromic calls the heater weather resistant, not waterproof. Its manual also says to protect the burner from rain and water, so use it under a protective cover and keep it covered when idle, with the gas supply disconnected. A cover for the head is sold separately. Let the heater cool fully before fitting it and never run the heater with the cover on.
How much space does it need?
Bromic's clearance drawing shows 3 feet above and beside the head, and the spec lists a minimum floor clearance of 121 inches. Use it only in open air with natural ventilation. A covered patio works if it meets the manual's enclosure rules and stays well ventilated.
Does it need assembly or installation?
It goes together from modular parts, following the manual, with the supplied hex key. An authorized person must leak test the gas connections before use, and a qualified service person should inspect the heater before use and at least once a year.
What is not included?
The propane cylinder and the head cover are not included. The natural gas model includes its quick-connect hose, regulator, retaining chain and mounting bracket.
